Understanding the process

havasagua

Havasagua Water Resort was originally a collateral project that focused on physical branding. I decided to expand on Havasagua’s identity because it already had an established design system that could be easily applied to a website. Knowing I had many elements, logos, and images to work with, I chose to bring Havasagua’s branding into the digital world.

Content & Sitemap

After looking at many resort and hotel websites, I was able to pinpoint what information I needed to build a convincing webpage that looked and acted like the real thing. I determined that I needed a page where users could view the resort’s main amenities/attractions, and another page where they could book their stay. The wellness blog was added as a both a resource for curious users and as a detail that would echo Havasagua’s emphasis on health and relaxation.

When sketching my wireframes, I wanted to make sure I was accurately translating Havasagua’s tranquil aesthetic into a digital landscape.

Figma Prototype

I took a lot of inspiration from actual resort websites when creating prototypes in Figma. I wanted to ensure my site fell in line with the other resort webpages that I had seen.

Conclusion

Building Havasagua’s website had its challenges, but in the end I was able to produce a four page site that paired well enough with the branding of the original project. Though I’m still familiarizing myself with WordPress, I’m glad to be able to say that I built a four page site for Havasagua Water Resort.
